It was the first Chardonnay vineyard
Planted in Limarí in 1993. It was a project of Viña Francisco de Aguirre, whose business at the time was producing pisco. They planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot, and others. Most of these strains didn't adapt, while the Chardonnay adapted well.
History
Everything was going well until 2014. Three consecutive years of drought caused a large part of the vineyard in this area to die. Of the 25 hectares of Chardonnay that existed in this vineyard, only a little over 4 hectares survived, which is what we produce today. It's an extreme vineyard on the edge of the Atacama Desert.
